Is Tiger Woods Done?

Posted by Howard Eskin on August 7, 2014

TigerWoodsCall me a cynic. You may be right, but I think Tiger Woods is getting a pass from the media. Not only do I think he overdramatized what he said were back pains, stiffness, a pinched nerve or whatever you’re buying but I think Tiger was not hurt badly enough to quit midway through the final round off the Bridgestone Invitational last week.

Amazing how ESPN and the Golf Channel will never go after him with what many are thinking. He never gets any of those injuries when he is playing well.

He’s one of the greatest golfers ever, but now he can’t handle reality. He’s not close to the same player he used to be. Always being the favorite in every tournament he played is over. He needs to accept his fate. He’s a good player but no longer a great player. His body is breaking and the game follows.

Tiger Woods needs to understand he’s not special any longer. Needs to stop being a prima donna.

Woods will not get the 4 major titles he needs to tie Jack Nicklaus with 18.

We will always watch Tiger when playing, but Tiger Woods days as a champion are over.
